Facts

o ensure uninterrupted global deployment capacity for emergency telecommunications, the World Food Programme (WFP) Technology Division requested the pre‑positioning of an emergency.lu satellite antenna system within its Dubai logistics hub. The hub is one of the United Nations’ principal global stockpiles for emergency ICT equipment, strategically located to enable rapid dispatch of assets to crisis zones worldwide.

The antenna system is fully operational at all times and integrated into the Dubai Test Lab environment, where it is regularly used for testing, validation, and compatibility checks of emergency.lu satellite communications equipment. This continuous operational status ensures system readiness and allows technical configurations to be verified in advance of field deployments.

At the same time, the antenna kit remains fully deployable and can be dispatched from Dubai to any location worldwide when required. In the event of a humanitarian emergency, the system can be mobilised rapidly to support field installations, replacements, or network expansions, ensuring seamless continuity of satellite connectivity.
