The Farchana Inter‑Agency Hub, established through IHP partners led by Luxembourg, provided a secure, self‑sufficient coordination base in eastern Chad, enabling sustained UN cross‑border humanitarian operations in response to the Darfur crisis.
Restoring Connectivity in the Darién Gap
Luxembourg deployed VSAT connectivity kits in the Darién Gap, enabling reliable internet through solar‑powered systems and supporting humanitarian coordination and services in remote jungle communities along key migration routes.
Türkiye Earthquake
On 6 February 2023, at 04:17 TRT (01:17 UTC), a Mw 7.8 earthquake struck southern and central Turkey and northern and western Syria. The epicenter was 37 km (23 mi) west–northwest of Gaziantep. The earthquake had a maximum Mercalli intensity of XII (Extreme) around the epicenter and in Antakya.
Typhoon Haiyan
On 10 November 2013, two emergency.lu rapid deployment kits, together with 4 VSAT experts from the Luxembourg Civil Protection, were deployed to the Philippines within the framework of an IHP support mission to UNDAC/OCHA. One additional emergency.lu rapid deployment kit and one regular kit were sent from the Humanitarian Response Depot in Dubai to the Philippines in support of the Emergency Telecommunications Cluster (ETC).
